Aquatic leadership programs not only provide you with the certification to work on a pool deck but they teach you teamwork, leadership, self-confidence, interpersonal and problem solving skills that will apply in all facets of your life.

COURSES

Red Cross Swim

Swim Patrol – Rookie, Ranger, Star Level

(No prerequisite)

The Canadian Swim Patrol program is the on-ramp to life-guarding. Ability is the only prerequisite to participate. This program will prepare you for success in the Lifesaving Society’s Bronze medal awards.

Bronze Medallion

(13 yrs old or Bronze Star)

Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the 4 components of water-rescue education – judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness.

Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid

(14 yrs old or Bronze Medallion)

Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid are designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including an introduction to safe supervision in aquatic facilities. It is recognized as an assistant lifeguard certificate in Ontario.

Emergency First Aid

Emergency First Aid course is designed to provide both first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries.

Standard First Aid

(Full Course and Re-certification)

Standard First Aid course provides a in depth training covering all aspects of first aid and CPR. It is recognized as CPR-C certification.

Water Safety Instructors

(Full Course and Re-certification)

The Water Safety Instructors (WSI) Course prepares candidates to instruct the Red Cross Swim programs. Candidates focus on strategies to introduce and develop fitness activities, skills and water safety and swimming skills in the Red Cross Swim Preschool, Red Cross Swim Kids

The Water Safety Instructor Transfer Course will provide current experienced instructors with a detailed overview of the Red Cross Swim program. It teaches candidates how to apply their knowledge and skills to this program

Lifesaving Instructor

(Full Course)

The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor course prepares the instructor to teach and evaluate the swimming stokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program.

The National Lifeguard Course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills to become effective lifeguards. This course emphasizes hands-on-practice and scenarios.
